On a rainy April 20th 1964, the first ever jar of Nutella® came out of the Ferrero factory in Alba. This marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Made in Italy concept of excellence and for a product that has since become an Italian icon all around the world.
The result of Michele Ferrero's genius takes its name from the English noun nut, or hazelnut, and the ltalian suffix ella, that expresses affection and a positive meaning. ln 2021 the Ferrero company will celebrate its 75th anniversary.

In the centre, the largest Italian production plant of the Ferrero Group that is located in Alba, Cuneo. Here the Company, specialised in confectionery products, was founded in the 1940s.
