A numismatic masterpiece celebrates the conclusion of the world tour of the legendary Amerigo Vespucci, ambassador of Italian maritime excellence. The innovative 10 euro coin, thanks to its original donut shape, can accommodate the 2 euro proof coin in the centre, in a composition of rare beauty, which amplifies the message of tradition and innovation, brotherhood and love for the sea, that the Amerigo Vespucci brought throughout the world.
Obverse: Graphic representation of the compass with the cardinal points surrounding the hole that characterizes the coin, surrounded by the degrees. Arch-shaped, at the top, the inscription “REPUBBLICA ITALIANA” and, at the bottom, the inscription “NON CHI COMINCIA MA QUEL CHE PERSEVERA” (not he who begins but he who perseveres), the motto of the training ship.
Reverse: Representation of the globe with parallels and meridians. At the top and bottom are the dates “2023” and “2025”, respectively, the year of the beginning and end of the world tour, and, “R”, identifying the Mint of Rome. On the right, “10 EURO”, the coin’s value, and “2025”, the year the coin’s issue. At the bottom, on the right, “E.FERRETTI”, the designer’s signature.
