In the foreground, two Sicilian cannoli and a glass of Passito on a typical Caltagirone ceramics’ decoration and a baroque tortile column with Corinthian capital inspired by the Mother Church of Palazzolo Acreide. In the composition, the arch-shaped inscriptions “REPUBBLICA ITALIANA" and "SICILIA" with a stylised sea wave in between; below, on the right, the name of the designer "COLANERI".
Reverse
Composition of typical elements of Sicily: the Temple of Concordia situated in the Valley of the Temples, Agrigento, the stylised Ancient Theatre of Taormina, an almond tree branch, a sea wave and the Triskeles, a female head with three bent legs also named Trinacria, the symbol of Sicily and an important part of the Sicilian flag.
