While the majestic architectures of Brunelleschi's Dome, Giotto's Bell Tower and Arnolfo's Tower in Palazzo Vecchio harmoniously blend with the evocative landscape of the Sienese hills, the typical Cantucci and the Tuscan Vinsanto stand out in the foreground.
Obverse: In the foreground, the typical Tuscan cantucci and Vinsanto. In the background, bichromatic marble inlays, typical of the Tuscan Romanesque, delimit a window with decorations inspired by the façade of the Abbey of San Miniato al Monte in Florence, from which you can see Brunelleschi's dome of the Florence Cathedral, the Bell Tower of Giotto and the Arnolfo Tower of Palazzo Vecchio. On the left, vertically, the inscriptions “TOSCANA” and “REPUBBLICA”; above, “ITALIANA”; in exergue, the signature of the designer M.BONIFACIO. Coin with coloured elements.
Reverse: In the foreground the characteristic landscape of the Sienese hills; in the background, expanses of vineyards, crowned with cypresses, and the Tuscan coast on the Tyrrhenian Sea; above, in the centre, the winged horse Pegasus inserted into a Samnite shield, symbol of the Tuscany region. Above, arch-shaped, the inscription "SAPORI D'ITALIA"; in the centre, below, the coin’s value “5 EURO”; on the right, “R”, identifying the Mint of Rome, on the left, “2024”, year of the coin’s issue.
