250th Anniversary of the foundation of the Guardia di Finanza
Obverse: In the centre, stylized version of the heraldic emblem of the Guardia di Finanza, that interprets the concept of security and provides a future vision of the role of the Corps, celebrating the past by combining it with the future and the challenges it will continue to face. This emblem includes various elements: the mountain, the sea and the sky, natural environments where the body operates, the griffin, a mythological animal which, according to legend, watches over the Treasury, represented by the State treasury, and the turreted crown. Below, “RI”, acronym for the Italian Republic; in exergue, "1774-2024", respectively the year of the establishment of the Guardia di Finanza and the year of the coin’s issue; on the right, “R”, identifying the Mint of Rome, and “MB”, initials of the designer Marta Bonifacio; above, arch-shaped, the inscription “GUARDIA DI FINANZA”; around, the twelve stars of the European Union.
Rita Levi-Montalcini
Obverse: In the foreground, portrait of Rita Levi-Montalcini inspired by a photograph by Manuela Fabbri; in the background, microscope taken from a medal designed by the brother of the Italian scientist Gino Levi-Montalcini, with the base in the shape of a horseshoe as a good luck charm for the award of the Nobel Prize for Medicine, that she received in 1986. Above, arch-shaped, the inscription “RITA LEVI-MONTALCINI”; on the left, “RI”, acronym for the Italian republic, and “R”, identifying the Mint of Rome; in exergue, “2024”, year of the coin’s issue; on the right, “SP”, initials of the designer Silvia Petrassi; around, the twelve stars of the European Union.
