Obverse: In the centre, the portrait of Michelangelo kept at the Casa Buonarroti Museum. In the background, the pattern characterising the pavement of Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome, by Michelangelo. Arch-shaped, top and bottom, the inscription “REPUBBLICA ITALIANA”. On the right, the signature of the designer “U.PERNAZZA”.

Reverse: In the centre, the detail of the hands of the Creation of Adam, the fresco located inside the Sistine Chapel. Arch-shaped, at the top, the inscription “MICHELANGELO”. In the field, the dates “1475” and “2025”, the year of Michelangelo’s birth and the year of the coin’s issue respectively.
