The Food and Wine Culture series arrives in Piedmont, a land of art and unique flavours. The Mole Antonelliana stands among the typical chocolates and the prized Barolo, with the Alps in the background. Together with the Venaria Reale and the Basilica of Sant’Andrea, they highlight the food and wine and cultural heritage of this unique region.
Obverse: In the foreground, an urban landscape created with bars of different varieties of chocolate and some of the typical chocolates of Piedmont such as cri cri, gianduiotto, boero and cremino. In the centre, the Mole Antonelliana, symbolic building of Turin; in the top left, a decanter, a glass and a barrel made of fine wood represent the Barolo wine, excellence of the region. In the field, the skyline of the Alps; on the left, the inscription “Repubblica Italiana” and “M.BONIFACIO”, the designer’s signature; in the top right, arch-shaped, “Piemonte”. Coin with coloured elements.
Reverse: On the left, a view of the Gardens of the Royal Palace of Venaria Reale, residence of the Savoy family located in Turin, which shows in the foreground the complex of the majestic Fountain of Hercules Colossus, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This view is framed by a detail of the rose window of the Basilica of Sant'Andrea in Vercelli. In the field, the coin’s value "5 EURO". Arch-shaped, on the right, "SAPORI D'ITALIA" enclosed between two dots and the year of the coin’s issue "2025". At the bottom, "R" identifying the Mint of Rome.
