Obverse: representation of the obverse of the 50 Lire coin where Italy is depicted with a profile of a woman's face turned to the right, crowned by oak leaves. Around, the inscription "REPUBBLICA ITALIANA". At the bottom, the signature of the designer "V. DE SETA". Around, a decorative dot pattern.
Reverse: representation of the reverse of the 50 Lire coin, with the god Vulcan depicted in the centre. On the right, the old denomination "L. 50," and, below, the "R" identifying the Mint of Rome, and "2026", the year of the coin’s issue. On the left, at the top, "50 EURO", the current denomination. Around, a decorative dot pattern.
