A 16-sided polygonal coin to celebrate 160 years of activity. The commemorative logo of this historic milestone merges with the iconic symbols of helicopters, patrol boats and rescuers, which testify to the daily commitment to safety, navigation and environmental protection of this historic maritime corp.
Obverse: In the centre, in the foreground, the logo of the Port Authorities - Coast Guard, designed to celebrate the 160th anniversary of its establishment. Arch-shaped, the inscription “REPUBBLICA ITALIANA” enclosed between two stars. At the bottom, two stylised waves with the motto “OMNIA VINCIT ANIMUS” inside one of them.
Reverse: Two segments divide the space into three sectors in which the main activities carried out by the Corps are graphically represented: safeguarding human life at sea, safety of navigation, protection of the marine environment, monitoring of maritime transport. Therefore, a helicopter is depicted at the top; in the centre, a patrol boat surfing the waves; at the bottom, a maritime rescuer swimming among stylised waves. At the top, arch-shaped, the coin’s value “SIX EURO” enclosed between two stars. Left, “R”, identifying the Mint of Rome. Below, the signature of the designer “M.BONIFACIO”. At the bottom, the dates 1865 and 2025, separated by a dot, respectively the year of foundation of the Corps and the year of the coin’s issue.
